How We Support

Our Philosophy

Raising Rainbows in Roses is built on the belief that meaningful change happens through relationships, not blame or control. We support children, families, carers and professionals to move from crisis-driven responses towards connection, presence and practical hope.

Trauma-Informed

Our work recognises that distress, conflict and challenging behaviour often sit within wider experiences of trauma, unmet need and relational strain. We help adults and systems respond with curiosity, consistency and compassion, creating safer conditions for children, families and teams.

Lived Experience Led

Lived experience is central to how we understand, design and deliver our work. We value the knowledge of parents, carers, young people and practitioners, ensuring our approaches remain grounded, humane and relevant to real family and service contexts.

About Raising Rainbows In Roses

Early Intervention

Our early intervention work supports families before difficulties become more entrenched. We help parents, carers and key adults understand distress earlier, respond with greater confidence and strengthen connection at home, school and within the wider support network

SPACE Programme

SPACE is a parent-based approach that supports children and young people experiencing anxiety, avoidance or emotional distress. Rather than placing pressure on the child to change immediately, SPACE helps parents and carers reduce accommodation, increase confidence and respond in calm, supportive and boundaried ways.

Who We Support

We work with children, young people, families and the adults around them across home, school, health and local-authority systems. Our role is to help the whole network respond to distress, anxiety, conflict and complexity with confidence, consistency and connection.

Get in Touch

Families

Support for parents and carers when family life feels strained by anxiety, distress, conflict, school avoidance or relationship breakdown. We help families rebuild connection, strengthen parental presence and feel less alone under pressure.

Schools & Education

Practical support for schools, colleges and education teams responding to emotional distress, anxiety, attendance difficulties and relational strain. We help staff use shared language, calm responses and joined-up support around the child.

CAMHS & Health Services

Training, consultation and supervision for teams working with complex presentations, risk, escalation and family-system pressure. We support confident, relational practice across inpatient, community and specialist pathways.

"I have autism, and the world feels difficult because of unspoken social rules and overwhelming

sensory experiences. I struggled to speak, the words wouldn't come out, and I hurt myself because I

was so scared. Some staff said I was out of control, but I was just terrified. My nurse sat with me

when I was distressed, giving me space to feel that way. He stayed calm and showed me how to find

calm in moments of distress. Connection is what helped me get better"

“SPACE has been transformative. I used to over-accommodate my children’s worries out of love, but I now realise this was actually deepening their anxiety. The biggest change has been in me—I’m calmer, more consistent, and it’s making a huge difference.

Despite challenges like exam prep and family stress, we’ve stayed peaceful and connected as a family. I truly believe every parent should experience this.”

“I’m attending every week alongside the head teacher to support both parents and children at school. After the introductory session, I could already see that this approach offers something truly different—both as a parent and as a teacher.

By week 4, we’re already seeing positive changes, and parents are talking about it at the school gates. It’s exciting to be part of this initiative, and we’re eager to share it with other teachers across the school to further support our families.”

“I just wanted to say thank you to you both for delivering such a brilliant, informative, and thought-provoking course.

The support from both you and the group has been amazing, and I’ve learned so much from everyone involved.”
